1. KNOW YOUR GO-TO UNIFORMS

Most of us aren’t wearing about 50% of our closets. This means we tend to gravitate towards a smaller subset of clothing that we’re wearing really often. These are outfits which you know you can put on, feel amazing in, and wear no matter how you feel. The key to adding a speed boost to your morning routine is figuring out your go-to uniforms for life and work. That way you can grab and go without hesitation, and know with confidence that what you’re wearing works for your day.

Pro Tip: Map out the ‘uniforms’ you love for work and play. Write them down, or better yet, take pictures of them, so in a panic, you can get dressed in a minute!

2. AUDIT YOUR CLOSET

It’s hard to get dressed in the morning if you can’t actually see any of your clothes because you have an overstuffed closet, or crowded dresser drawers. Take some time on a weekend and perform a closet audit! When you can see your clothing, it will be easier and faster to find what you want to wear on the daily.

Pro Tip: Download our free Minimalist Wardrobe Workbook which walks you through how you can maximize your closet space, and minimize the clutter.

3. LAY OUT YOUR LOOK

Want to feel less panicked in the morning? Lay out your outfit. Yes, just like you did in grade school. Take all the components of your outfit including shoes, your bag and accessories, and put them on a chair so they are ready to go in the morning. Make sure everything is neat, stain-free, and wrinkle-free. Prepping your outfit the night before will help you reduce the morning stress of figuring out what to wear.

4. PERFECT YOUR MINIMALIST BEAUTY ROUTINE

Do you have a morning beauty routine? How could that be optimized to take up less time? The simple act of putting out all of your beauty tools, and doing more with less when it comes to your makeup routine can save you more than a few minutes in the morning.

5. EMBRACE THE DRY SHAMPOO

Depending on your hair length, an immense amount of time in the morning can be spent just drying your hair. Try showering and styling your hair the night before. If you find you wake up with your hair not looking up to the day, add some dry shampoo and do a quick style touch-up so you can get on with your day!
