#WomenOfAce: Meet Laura Kloepfer

We are turning the spotlight on our Winnipeg Community Activator, Laura, and featuring her as this week’s #WomenOfAce. This go-getter is rallying the good vibes, and creating an incredible community of women that are breaking barriers and supporting each other. Oh…and she has a unicorn tattoo who goes by the name Jeremiah (cool right?).

ACE: WHAT ARE YOU UP TO? ( YOUR CURRENT HUSTLE )

Laura: I am a social media specialist at Think Shift Inc., the Winnipeg Community Activator for The Ace Class, a tarot reader, and a freelance graphic designer.

ACE: WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT TO YOU? ( WHERE DID THIS PASSION COME FROM? )

Laura: The Ace Class is important to me because I’ve realized how great it is to create a community of support and change the way we as women work with each other. Social media plays a key role in that — when we use it to lift each other up, as opposed to take each other down, we can connect on another level and that is amazing.

ACE: WHAT WAS YOUR DREAM JOB GROWING UP? HOW DO YOU THINK THIS HAS INFLUENCED WHO YOU ARE TODAY?

Laura: I wanted to be an archeologist growing up and have always had a natural curiosity (dinosaurs are the best thing ever). I think that’s part of how I ended up where I am now — always looking to discover new things and keep exploring.

ACE:  IF YOU COULD DESCRIBE YOURSELF IN ONLY THREE WORDS, WHAT WOULD THEY BE?

Laura: Creative, colourful, and hilarious (if I don’t laugh at my own jokes, no one else will).

ACE: WHO’S YOUR BIGGEST INSPIRATION AND WHY?

Laura: RuPaul, for being a constant reminder to love myself.

ACE: WHAT DOES THE TERM “BOSS BABE” MEAN TO YOU?

Laura: A woman who is empowered and empowering.

ACE: HOW DO YOU EMPOWER OTHER WOMEN?

Laura: I work really hard to create a space for women to share, create, and feel comfortable to be themselves when they are with me and beyond.

ACE: WHAT IS THE BEST ADVICE YOU’VE EVER RECEIVED FROM ANOTHER WOMAN?

Laura: I was once told by a previous mentor what “beauty is in the eye of the beholder” really meant. It changed the way I perceived myself and how I approached the way we as a society approach beauty.

ACE: CAN YOU SHARE THE BIGGEST LESSON YOU’VE LEARNED FROM A FAILURE?

Laura: You don’t have to do it alone. Most people are just waiting for you to ask for their help.

ACE: WHEN YOU ARE FEELING OVERWHELMED, WHAT DO YOU DO TO FIND PEACE?

Laura: Drink all the red wine with my very best gal pals, and I will often reach for my tarot deck for a little guidance.

ACE: WHAT LEGACY DO YOU HOPE TO BE REMEMBERED FOR?

Laura: I would hope that people remember me as someone who lifted them up, and maybe made them laugh a couple times.

ACE: WHERE CAN WE FIND OUT MORE ABOUT YOU SO WE CAN CONTINUE TO SUPPORT YOU?

Laura: Visit me at all the Winnipeg Ace events and stay tuned for a very special design project I will be launching in 2019!

Stay connected with Laura: @laura.kloepfer
