5 Ways to Stay Hydrated

With such scorching hot temperatures across the country this summer, it’s all the more important to stay hydrated. You’ll instantly see a shift in your body after showing those eight cups a day whose boss — hello, luminous, glowing skin, increased energy and a cleansed dietary system. Here are five ways to keep the water flowing at all hours of the day, no matter how busy you are.

1. Create your own “spa” water.

We’re always trying to find new ways to make drinking water less boring and more enjoyable. Adding your favourite fruits, such as cucumbers, lemons, berries, mint, etc. to the mix adds some flavour and ups your health game all in one. It also leaves your system feeling refreshed and ready to take on the day. Have fun with this and switch it up every day with fresh fruits.

2. Use a reusable bottle.

Find one that speaks to your style, keeps your water cool and holds a good amount of water. This will motivate you to drink more water, more often. Swell bottles have been notoriously recommended for keeping your liquids cool for long periods of time, no one likes sipping from a bottle to realize the contents are warmer than room temperature... Gross!

3. Keep fresh water in eyesight.

This one’s for the busy bees. Trick yourself into drinking water by keeping it nearby while you crush those to-do-lists. Let the water taunt you and you’ll automatically end up reaching for it while completing a task, stuck in traffic, or at a meeting.

4. Kickstart your metabolism in the mornings.

Leave a glass on your nightstand so that before you’ve even had coffee, you are already well on your way to meeting your daily water intake. This also helps digest your breakfast and flushes your system after a night’s worth of sleep.

5. Drink at least one glass with every meal.

This is key to staying hydrated and keeping your body in check. Drink one before your meal and one after to help your digestive system do its job better.
