Ace: What’s one piece of advice you’d give your younger self?
Sunny: Patience, young grasshopper. I have been in overdrive since the moment I came out of the womb and I’d love to tell my younger self to slow down, take it all in, and give yourself a damn pat on the back every once in a while. You’re doing great, kid – and you’re just getting started!
Ace: Which women inspire you and why?
Sunny: My mom, first and foremost. She is the strongest woman I’ve ever met and she set an incredible example for me that it is truly possible to have it all. I also admire the heck out of Michelle Obama and her level of vulnerability and raw communication, under the fierce pressure of being the first lady.
Ace: What can guests expect you to talk about at RISE?
Sunny: Banking on yourself! I’ve made a career out of leveraging my unique talents and passions to build a multi-million dollar business. As Beyonce says, “I don’t like to gamble, but if there’s one thing I’m willing to bet on, it’s myself.” Preach, Queen Bey.
Ace: What is your proudest mistake?
Sunny: Oh, there are too many to count. I think you have to be making a million mistakes if you’re really growing.
Ace: What does supporting women mean to you?
Sunny: It’s critical. I have a squad of women in my life who are there to lift me up, cheer me on, and give me advice. I’m so happy to see the era of women vs. women being phased out, because I truly believe the only way to RISE, is together.
Ace: What’s your personal goal or resolution for 2019?
Sunny: Slow down to speed up. Focus on the things that are gaining the most momentum and double down. Breathe. Pat myself on the back. Love my people harder.
