Meet Rachael Hunt, founder of GlutenFreedomInc.com and co-founder of the podcast, Vibe Tribe Wellness. As the self-proclaimed GF Queen of Toronto and beyond, Rachael has built a community to talk openly about the challenges of a gluten-free lifestyle. She mitigates these challenges by providing resources for dining, cooking, travelling, living and more. The work she's doing to give a voice to the GF community, as well as shine light on women entrepreneurs in the Greater Toronto Area, is so important. We are so honoured to give you a little inside scoop of who Rachael is as a #WomenOfAce.
ACE: What are you up to? ( Your current hustle )
Rachael: I am the founder of GlutenFreedomInc.com, a site dedicated to cooking, dining, travelling and living gluten-free. It has become a useful resource for those looking for solutions to their gluten-free lifestyle, most notably for my comprehensive restaurant directory. I am also the co-founder of Vibe Tribe Wellness, a podcast & movement that inspires others in pursuit of a high vibrational life.
ACE: Why is this important to you? ( Where did this passion come from? )
Rachael: When I found out I had to go gluten-free 5 years ago, I literally felt like my life had fallen apart. I was adamant on not giving up the quality of life I had grown accustomed to, so I obsessively sought restaurants that could feed me essentially! I grew very passionate about seeking options and sharing with my audience. That is the passion that still fuels me to this day.
ACE: What was your dream job growing up? How do you think this has influenced who you are today?
Rachael: I don’t recall having one specific job or career path in mind, but I do remember yearning for a certain lifestyle. I grew up in a smalltown so was always very drawn to city life, various luxuries, lavish trips, clothing, etc. While I am not that materialistic in my aspirations, I am very much drawn to creating a life of freedom. I knew I had to work hard to achieve this type of abundance, so I think that explains my hustle.
ACE: If you could describe yourself in only three words, what would they be?
Rachael: Driven, dreamer, spontaneous!
ACE: Who’s your biggest inspiration and why?
Rachael: This is so tough to pick just one person. Lately, I have been crushing on Gabby Bernstein, Brit & Tara from Elevate the Globe & Jenna Kutcher. They are all forging this incredible path as female entrepreneurs in a way that is supportive, empowering, and unique. They each have their own niche that they focus on, and are just killing it.
ACE: What does the term “Boss Babe” mean to you?
Rachael: Boss Babe is my motto, it’s what I strive for on a daily basis. It means being independent, confident & fearless in her pursuit of happiness, success & love. This is not to say she is threatening or intimidating, a true boss babe is kind and remains tactful.
ACE: How do you empower other women?
Rachael: I am always very quick to encourage others to pursue their passions. If a friend approaches me with an idea, I will never be the one to shut it down because I truly believe that if you have passion & drive, you can accomplish great things. There is room for all of us to thrive! With Vibe Tribe, we are a predominately female-focused platform and we are relentless about promoting self-love, self-care, compassion, and mindfulness for ourselves and others.
ACE: What is the best advice you’ve ever received from another woman?
Rachael: I would say my mom is the queen of good advice. She was always very adamant that we do what makes us happy and that we had a solid belief system. Growing up Catholic, I didn’t really resonate with the religion, but my mom said: “I don’t care what you believe in, but you have to believe in something.” Over 15 years later and I still think of that as I allow my spiritual side shine through and let it guide me to greatness.
ACE: Can you share the biggest lesson you’ve learned from a failure?
Rachael: Failure makes your more resilient, resilience makes you stronger, strength will keep you going. Don’t let failure be a bad thing, it can lead you to even more incredible opportunities.
ACE: When you are feeling overwhelmed, what do you do to find peace?
Rachael: In my meditation, journalling or a good workout. Oh, and a good tequila soda will do the trick ;)
ACE: What legacy do you hope to be remembered for?
Rachael: Helping others along their path to pursuing their passion. Both of my businesses have been passion-fuelled and I hope that I can encourage others to follow that gut instinct and make magic happen!
ACE: Where can we find out more about you so we can continue to support you?
Rachael: My two babies would be my website, glutenfreedominc.com and my podcast, Vibe Tribe Wellness on iTunes, Google Play & Stitcher. That’s where you can learn more about me and my journey!
